Submerged in the soot of our harrowing conquest
We clung fervently to the rivets of time.
Flowers blossomed as with the heart,
streams did once more flow.
In suit the frost did sing the requiem for winter
and as I watched, the conflict arose
between the heart of heaven and the cold of earth.
Dignified beneath the trembling sky
we held the fissure lovingly
against the human heart
and felt the warmth flow
through its winsome imperfections.
